Newbiggin by the Sea
The Old Ship has stood in the centre of Newbiggin Bay, overlooking the sea, for over 150 years.
Incorporating traditional features with modern needs it has been recently refurbished and released from brewery control and is now a family run free house.
The Old Ship bar area is open daily until 11pm and provides a pleasant environment for both local and visiting customers.
We stock a large and constantly changing selection of Cask Ales and have up to four ales, sourced locally and nationally, available at any time.
Despite the financial incentives we have no pool table, no bandit and no juke box. We do, however, encourage people to do that old fashioned thing called talking!
We have an extensive outdoor decking area which adjoins the promenade.
We offer Accommodation, Bar Meals, Sunday Lunch, Conference Facilities, a Meeting Room and an Exhibition space.
